Former WBC Silver cruiserweight champion Dmitry Kudryashov shared his thoughts on the career prospects of mixed style fighter Alexander Emelianenko.
"Alexander's condition lately leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't want to jump on his bones and make a name for myself by fighting him. Let him fight Geegun or Philip Kirkorov. I'm not involved in that. Would he be able to compete with me in boxing, if he gets in shape? It has nothing to do with that. He is a great fighter, I respect his achievements in sports. But now he is, to put it mildly, not in the best shape. Of course, he tries to show how he trains, he fights against the blogger soon. But it's all a far cry from what should happen to a fighter. Watch a video of Alexander and it's sad what the man has turned into.
"Will Alexander return to normal life? He's had many attempts before and they've all ended the same way. God willing, he'll come back. Although all this talk about the fight with his brother and so on... Then again, an athlete of that level, on the fights of whom we all grew up, fighting a 50 kg blogger... If they do it, it means there's a fans interest, but I'm not interested at all, and I won't even watch it," Kudryashov said.
On September 18 Emelianenko fights the blogger Artem Tarasov. The fight will be held by boxing rules, but with MMA gloves.
