Juan Manuel Lopez arrested for domestic violence

Juan Manuel Lopez (36-6-1, 32 KOs) was once a big star, but his "peak career" passed quickly. And unfortunately, like some past champions, he doesn't do well outside the ring after his career ended.

The former flyweight and bantamweight champion has been absent since he drew his bout with Emiliano Garcia two and a half years ago, but to "keep himself busy" at home he arranged to "spar", for which he was arrested.

Lopez was arrested last night after an ex-girlfriend accused him of assault. Andrea Ojeda posted photos of her bruised eyes Tuesday morning. Hours later, the former champion was arrested.

"He's an aggressive man who also has a drinking problem. That's why I dumped him. Once he drinks, he becomes a different person," Ojeda stated.
