Coldwell: "I thought Joshua would do his job, but now Usyk is back to Lomachenko's father "

Dave Coldwell, former coach of former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew, worries that Oleksandr Usyk could be a very serious test for WBA/WBO/IBF heavyweight titleholder Anthony Joshua, if he does prepare for this fight under Anatoly Lomachenko.

"I thought Joshua would do his job in fighting him. People don't give credit to AJ's boxing skills. He knows how to box and is getting better and better with every fight. Every fight he gets smoother and his punches get sharper. Plus, he still has power and size. So I thought Joshua would come out and be able to do his job.

But then Usyk went back to father Lomachenko, and now I'm thinking, "Oh shit." While I could be wrong again, I'm looking at one more thing: there are no records of Usyk's workouts. We've only seen a little bit of him on the bike, but as Usyk's heavyweight journey progressed, we looked at pictures of him working on the bag, and it seemed like he was just gaining mass.

So I think he'll come out fighting light. If Usyk works with Lomachenko's dad again, he'll go back to the style he practiced in the cruiserweights. And if he does, the fight will be dangerous. So I don't know," Coldwell said in an interview with YouTube channel Boxing UK.
