Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov commented on the standard of living in Dagestan.
"This region is very rich in all resources: locations, people, land, sunny days for agriculture, there is the sea, mountains, forest. I don't know if you know, but almost the whole western part of Russia is powered by electricity which is produced in Dagestan. We have one of the biggest hydroelectric power plants. Dagestan is a very rich region, but we live very poor socially. My sister used to work as an English teacher. I took her because I think it's not correct that she works for 11 thousand rubles a month ($150 - ed.) when she has three children of her own. Well, 11,000 rubles... I think it is wrong"
