Olympic participant Vasily Belous dies in Moldova

Participant of the 2012 Olympic Games Moldovan boxer Vasily Belous died as a result of a car accident at the age of 34. The accident took place in the Ocnita district of Moldova. Belous couldn't cope with the driving and crashed into a stone gate of Blessed Virgin's Assumption Monastery in Calarasiovca village. He had wife and two children.

Belous was the bronze medalist of the 2017 European Championships in the welterweight division, a multiple champion of Moldova. He competed at the 2012 London Olympics, where he was defeated in the second round.
