Daria Shovkoplyas, head of the professional ring-girls collective Project Hollywood, commented on former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov's remarks that ring-girls are an unnecessary element in MMA.
"We all understand that MMA or boxing are quite violent sports. And when you watch one brutality for a long time, at some point it gets saturated. The audience needs to be distracted. Naturally, spectators, fans get distracted. And for them it's like a breath of fresh air. It's an element of the show, because a martial arts tournament is already a show in itself right now".
