Emelianenko comments on rumors that he had been drinking the day before Ismailov fight

MMA heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko of Russia reacted to rumors that he consumed alcohol on the eve of his fight with Magomed Ismailov.

"When was the last time I drank alcohol? A very long time ago... I can`t remember. Is it true that I drank the day before the fight with Ismailov? No, it's not true. It's all lies. I don't know where these rumors are coming from. It's not true. A little too much before the fight, yeah. And a little bit of a wrong approach to the fight. I listened to my seconds a little bit wrong. I was getting on my feet a lot, which I shouldn't have done. I should have been moving easily on my feet, ripping Magu and hitting from a distance. And I sat down, it was very hard to move on half bent legs. I wasn't overexcited. It's just... Somehow that's it - the fight didn't work out," Emelianenko said.

Last July Emelianenko lost to Ismailov by technical knockout.
