Artur Beterbiev (16-0, 16 KOs) is set to face Marcus Browne (24-1, 16 KOs) in his next fight in the professional ring. The American has been named by the World Boxing Council as the mandatory challenger for the Russian. Beterbiev, 36, holds the WBC and IBF light heavyweight belts.
The teams have until September 17 to agree on the date. Otherwise, the WBC will set a date for a promotional bids.
In March, Beterbiev returned to the ring after a year and a half break, defeating Adam Dynes. In April Browne also returned to the ring after a long break and defeated Denis Grachev on points.
