Former UFC bantamweight champion and Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz commented on his upcoming boxing bout with former UFC middleweight division "king" Anderson Silva.
"Kudos to Anderson for finally accepting this fight, but because of his contractual demands I've lost respect for him. He's fought at 205 pounds six times in his career, but now he wants me to drop to 195 pounds - it shows how afraid he is of my power. What people don't realize is that I'm a pretty decent puncher and have only gotten better over the last six years.
The last time I did 195 pounds was probably my sophomore year of college. I'm going to try to do that. If I have to, I'll cut my leg off. I've never failed a weigh-in in my entire career, but Anderson Silva has crossed every line.
He's one of the best fighters in mixed martial arts history, but I've lost respect for him. So it gives me a little more energy and aggression during training camp to smash this guy's face," Ortiz told TMZ.
Silva vs. Ortiz fight will take place on Sept. 11 at the Triller event.
