By August 24 Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) and George Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10 KOs) are due to sign contracts for the IBF World Lightweight Championship. The International Boxing Federation announced that if the deadline is not met, Triller Fight Club will lose the right to host this meeting.
The bout according to the latest IBF regulations must take place no later than October 17th. It will have to be organized in a country where none of the boxers will be required to undergo quarantine. Most likely, it will be the United States.
It is possible that Triller Fight Club will relinquish the rights to organize it, despite the already incurred expenses due to the change in the date of the fight several times. In this case, the rights to organize it will be transferred to Matchroom Boxing, which offered the second highest amount at the bids, and it will have 90 days to agree with the parties to the event.
