The teams of Saul Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KOs) and Caleb Plant (21-0, 12 KOs) are close to agreeing on the terms of the battle, which is scheduled for September 18 in Las Vegas. At stake there will be the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC super middleweight titles.

The fight will take place at the Premier Boxing Champions evening in Las Vegas. Canelo has been a free agent since May, and although he works closely with Eddie Hearn, the next fight will be held at an event organized by Al Haymon's entourage.

The upcoming night of boxing will be shown in US on FOX by pay-per-view. Alvarez was against such a decision, but eventually changed his mind. The Mexican's purse will consist of the guaranteed amount plus a share of the PPV sales. It is expected that earnings for the upcoming unification fight will be a record in his career and will exceed $40 million.

Plant will earn about $10 million for his performance, which will also be a record for him. The official announcement of this fight may take place this week.
