Russian-Irish MMA fighter Artem Lobov explained why he did not respond to Khabib Nurmagomedov's slap in the face during the conflict before UFC 223 in April 2018.
“It is not known how the situation would develop further. What would happen to my American visa. One of the guys who participated in the bus story was taken away. He will never be able to return to America again. For a fighter, this is an end to his career - you cannot fight in the USA, your fees will never rise to the proper level.
"There were different thoughts, but it turned out how it happened. We need to move on. As for the media push, I had good media coverage before. I don’t think that this situation has added anything to me,” Lobov said.
