Stevenson vs Herring for WBO title by the end of the year

The fight of Shakur Stevenson (15-0, 8 KOs) and Jamel Herring (23-2, 11 KOs) for the WBO Super Featherweight belt is scheduled for the last quarter of 2021. The fight will take place at one of the evening promoted by Top Rank.

A few weeks ago, the leadership of the World Boxing Organization informed the boxing teams about the need to start negotiations on this matter. Herring is a full-fledged world champion, and Stevenson has held the interim title since June.

Herring defeated Carl Frampton by TKO in his last professional appearance to end career of the Irish. Stevenson was previously the world featherweight champion.
