Alexander Shlemenko, the former Bellator middleweight champion, compared the promotion's new welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov to UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
“Amosov is not a Ukrainian Khabib, he is a Ukrainian Yaroslav. Amosov's level can be compared to the level of the UFC tops. But you have to look at these tops. If we take the most important top - Usman, then he comes from wrestling, Amosov - too. Whether Usman can box him is a big question. Amosov's penultimate rival was a very good fighter, and he could not fight him,” Shlemenko said.
Amosov became Bellator champion, defeating Douglas Lima by unanimous decision.
