Lopez renews Top Rank contract, returns October 2

Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) has signed a new deal with Top Rank and raised his minimum purses for championship fights. On October 2, the American is supposed to return to the ESPN platform and have a duel with a famous rival, and it is quite possible that Bob Arum will insist that Vasyl Lomachenko become this “famous” rival.

On June 19, Lopez will cross gloves with George Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10 KOs). For the American, this will be a mandatory defense of his IBF lightweight title. Lopez is also WBA, WBO and WBC belts holder.

Triller Fight Club won the tender for organizing this fight with a bid of $6 million. The boxing night in the USA will be on pay-per-view.
