Don King is putting pressure on the WBA and hopes Manuel Charr will lose his heavyweight title 'in recess'. The American promoter believes that after Charr did not enter the ring with Trevor Brian in January, he should lose all opportunities to fight for the World Boxing Association titles.
Charr's fight against Brian was supposed to take place in January. Ultimately, the fighter from Germany did not make it to the United States for formal reasons. He was replaced by Bermane Stiverne, who lost by TKO in the eleventh round. After the victory, Brian became the "regular" WBA champion in the "royal" division. The full-fledged world champion in this category is Anthony Joshua.
Charr, 36, returned to the ring in May after more than three years of inactivity and secured a quick stoppage victory over Christopher Lovejoy. Now Mahmoud Charr must fight Brian, but King is trying to avoid such a fight.
