Legendary Brazilian former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva spoke out about Dana White's decision to ban George St. Pierre from boxing against Oscar De La Hoya on Triller. The Canadian is still under contract with the UFC.
“I don't think it makes sense as George has done a lot for this sport, especially for the UFC. Why are you holding this guy? George is a fighter. You cannot hold a fighter. It's like taking a lion from the jungle and putting him in a cage. The lion will die. Nobody can do it. It's horrible.
"When you do your job, especially fighting at a level like me and George, you deserve respect. George has worked hard to do a lot for the UFC. White is holding St. Pierre, it doesn't make any sense. I have a personal opinion about Dana and I'm not in the UFC anymore. I do not like to talk about the UFC, this page of my life has been turned. I did my best for the company and put all my heart into it, but this chapter is closed,” the Brazilian said in an interview to MMAjunkie.
On June 19 in Mexico Silva fights in the boxing match against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
