Andy Ruiz Jr.'s coach (34-2, 22 KOs) Eddie Reinoso doesn't want his boxer to fight too quickly against Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs). The idea of a duel between Ruiz and the Bronze Bomber appeared some time ago, and after Saturday's victory of the Mexican Destroyer over Chris Arreola, it again appeared on the agenda. However, Reinoso claims that his new protégé needs time to face such a serious sporting challenge.
“I would like for Andy to have another fight and to have four to five months of training without interruption. We will be ready for Wilder in six months,” said the coach, who previously spoke in a similar fashion before signing a contract for the fight with Arreola, about a possible clash with Luis Ortiz.
Andy Ruiz Jr. scored a unanimous decision victory over Chris Arreola. The fight had WBA heavyweight elimination status.
