UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya opened as the clear favorite for a potential rematch with former titleholder Robert Whittaker.
Bookmakers published the following odds: Adesanya - 1.41, Whittaker - 3.05.
The first meeting of these fighters took place in October 2019 - then Adesanya won by knockout in the second round. The New Zealand Nigerian had successful title defenses against Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa, as well as an unsuccessful sortie to the light heavyweight division, losing by decision to Jan Blachowicz.
Whittaker fought three times after losing his belt, defeating Darren Till, Jared Cannonier in 2020 and Kelvin Gastelum on April 18 by unanimous decision. After yesterday's victory, the Australian said he was not considering other options other than a fight for the belt.
