Okolie and Briedis teams started negotiations

Kalle Sauerland, promoter of IBF and The Ring cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis (27-1, 19 KOs), said that preliminary negotiations for a unification fight with WBO champion Laurence Okolie (16-0, 13 KOs) had started.

Sauerland, however, noted that the decision on a possible clash with Okolie will depend on the size of the financial proposal of the British side, which should be at least one million dollars.

It is worth noting that earlier Briedis's team planned the next fight of their ward on May 29, but this fight almost certainly will not take place.
