The fight of Bohachuk and Adams was originally scheduled for December 3, but was postponed due to the Ukrainian's positive COVID-19 test result.

The workout was also attended by Manny Robles, Bohachuk's coach, Dub Huntley, Adams's coach and former world middleweight champion Fernando Vargas Sr., Vargas Jr.'s father and coach. They were joined by Tom Leffler, president of 360 Promotions and Bohachuk's promoter.
