The former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko (14-2, 10 KOs) can hold his next pro fight in July. For the Ukrainian, this will be a return to the ring after last year's defeat at the hands of Teofimo Lopez and the loss of his lightweight championship belts.
Potential rivals for the two-time Olympic champion include Masayoshi Nakatani (19-1, 13 KOs), who knocked out Felix Verdejo last December and won the WBO intercontinental lightweight title. The Japanese earned his only defeat as a pro at the hands of Teofimo Lopez.
A few days after the defeat in October, Lomachenko underwent surgery on his right shoulder. The Ukrainian is now returning to his shape, but his return to the ring, originally scheduled for spring, will eventually be delayed until summer. The fight with Nakatani will take place in the USA.
