McGregor on reasons for Poirier defeat

Former UFC two weight champion Conor McGregor reveals why he lost to Dustin Poirier. It turns out that on the eve of this fight, Conor trained only boxing. He thought Poirier was a great opponent to prepare for the fight against Manny Pacquiao. However, Dustin struck multiple low-kicks in McGregor's legs, injuring his right lower limb.

“I focused on boxing, believing that Dustin was the perfect opponent to prepare for Pacquiao fight. So I deserve those low kicks. These low kicks did their job. The 18th kick injured my leg, damaged the peroneal nerve. Fantastic!” the Irishman said.

McGregor lost to Poirier by TKO in the second round.
