Don King petitioned the World Boxing Association to authorize the battle of his boxers Trevor Bryan (20-0, 14 KOs) and Bermane Stiverne (25-4-1, 21 KOs) in a duel for the "regular" heavyweight title.

The fight could take place on January 29 at an evening hosted at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. Thus, Stevern can replace Bryan as his rival Manuel Charr (31-4, 17 KOs), whose arrival in the US on Tuesday is still in question. King wants Bryan (currently "interim" champion) and Steven to fight for the title that Charr owns now, which will be downgraded to champion "in recess".

It is worth noting that Bermane Stiverne, who was named a potential contender for the championship by the famous promoter, has fought twice in the last five years and lost both of them by TKO.
