Ryota Murata (16-2, 13 KOs) is one of the potential contenders for IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (41-1-1, 36 KOs), who is expected to return to the ring at the turn of April and May. The fight with the Japanese, who owns the regular WBA belt, may take place in Tokyo.

34-year-old Murata is on contract with Top Rank, but it will not be difficult for the parties to agree on this fight. The last time the Japanese fought was a year ago, when he stopped Stephen Butler in the fifth round.

Former junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia is also predicted as possible opponents for Golovkin in his spring fight. If the parties agree, this fight will take place in the United States.
