Alvarez is not going to rise up to the cruiserweights

Saul Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs) said he did not intend to try his hand at the cruiserweight division. A year ago, after a successful debut in the light heavyweight division and a victory over Sergei Kovalev the Mexican did not rule out such a scenario.

“That would be too much. I think I feel best at the super middleweight and middleweight divisions," said the Mexican fighter, who on Saturday defeated Callum Smith on points in the fight for the super middleweight titles.

In the next fights, Canelo will continue to compete in the super middleweights. The 30-year-old Mexican began his professional career at welterweights. Alvarez won championship belts in four weight categories.
