IBF Heavyweight Champion Mairis Briedis (27-1, 19 KOs) is considering moving to heavyweight. However, the winner of the WBSS tournament notes that he is not interested in duels with weak opponents.

“In the near future it will be found out whether I will stay in the cruiserweight and have interesting fights here, or will go to the heavyweight. However, in order to decide on this step, I must be sure that I can meet the best,” Briedis said.

Mairis Briedis has had the opportunity to test rivals weighing over 200 pounds in the past - in 2015 he knocked out the reigning "regular" WBA champion Manuel Charr. The Latvian has also been the sparring partner of the Klitschko brothers many times.
