WBC chief Mauricio Suleiman vehemently dismisses suggestions that his motivation for creating the new intermediate weight class was to make more money from sanctioning title fights.

“I find it difficult to fall asleep after such comments. This decision had absolutely nothing to do with the new sanctions fees. People believe this and explain everything by this,” Suleiman complained in an interview to Boxing Social.

The day before yesterday, a new weight was officially introduced - the weight of the "Bridger" with an upper limit of 224 pounds. However, it is not yet known which boxers will want to perform in it. The WBC is currently working on the first rankings.
