If Anthony Joshua chooses a fight against Tyson Fury next year and misses the mandatory defense against Oleksandr Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs), the Ukrainian is likely to fight for the vacant WBO Heavyweight Championship. At the moment, his opponent may be Daniel Dubois (15-0, 14 KOs), who is in second place in the ranking.

However, before this 23-year-old London Dynamite will have a very serious test. His rival on November 28 will be Olympic runner-up in Rio, possibly slow but big and strong, Joe Joyce (11-0, 10 KOs). The best of these two will receive the vacant belt of the European heavyweight champion, and later can fight Usyk for the world title according to the World Boxing Organization.

“Who would I like to meet after the fight with Joyce? Of course, Usyk, especially if it was a fight for the title of world champion. Big money, big bet, big stakes. If I beat Joyce, the Usyk fight would be the next great step in my career. I would not mind this scenario,” said Dubois (WBO #2).

Dubois performed only once this year. At the end of August, he stopped Ricardo Snijders (18-2, 8 KOs) in the second round .
