Nominees for this year's Boxing Hall of Fame ballot have been announced. Floyd Mayweather Jr., Wladimir Klitschko, Miguel Cotto, Andre Ward and James Toney were among the 30 candidates for the Hall of Fame for the first time.

A boxer must have been on a boxing pension for at least 3 years to be eligible. The choice will be made by journalists writing about boxing. Anyone who has the right to vote can select up to 5 candidates. Voting will last until the end of October, and the results will be announced before the end of the year. The three boxers with the most votes will join the honor group of the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY.

Last year, Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley and Juan Manuel Marquez were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the ceremony of their adoption, which always takes place in June, has been postponed to the next year.
