Bob Arum confirmed that the planned date for Tyson Fury's third fight (30-0-1, 21 KOs) against Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) remains unchanged for now. The fight is scheduled for December 19 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The head of the Top Rank promotion is confident that fans will attend the event.
The fight was originally scheduled for July 18 and then October 3. The dates have changed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic. So far, all Top Rank events are held with empty stands, but Arum believes the negotiations are heading in the right direction.
“We are constantly moving forward in discussions on this topic. We're talking about protection and all aspects of security. We communicate with everyone, including representatives of the city, and we hope that it will be possible to organize this in Las Vegas,” said the American promoter.
Arum expects that the newly opened facility, which can accommodate 70 thousand, will have about 10-15 thousand fans. People could sit at a safe distance from each other. In recent weeks, Australia and New Zealand have also come up with offers to host a Wilder - Fury III fight.
