Matchroom to make first event with fans on September 26?

On September 26 London may host the first boxing event on the British Isles since the outbreak of coronavirus with the participation of fans. Eddie Hearn made a request to the British government for permission to such an event.

The head of the promotional organization Matchroom Boxing wants this tournament to be one of the test events of the new security system being implemented for fans at sports facilities. Such tests were supposed to happen in August, but the rise in the number of coronavirus infections in the UK forced organizers to change plans.

Joshua Buatsi (12-0, 10 KOs) may take part in the main event of the evening, scheduled for the last Saturday of September. The last time the 27-year-old boxer competed was a year ago.
