Eddie Hearn the promoter of WBC Heavyweight Champion Dillian Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) disagrees with the team of Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) that a belted “King of the Gypsies” can neglect mandatory defense in the prospect of a unification fight against WBA, WBO and IBF champion Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs).

“I think Whyte is impossible to miss. This is only possible if they pay Whyte step aside money, but in my opinion this scenario has no chance. Fury could also leave the WBC belt vacant, which we don't want either," said the head of Matchroom Boxing, who, as Joshua's promoter, wants AJ to fight Fury for four championship titles.

“You can avoid Fury vs White fight, but it will have consequences like losing the WBC belt. Nobody wants that because Fury without a belt in a fight against Joshua is not what interests us," Hearn added.

According to the latest WBC position, the winner of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder meeting scheduled for December is set to face Dillian Whyte in early 2021. However, a few days ago, Bob Arum said that the confrontation of Fury and Wilder would take place no earlier than February.
