Former world featherweight champion Oscar Valdez (27-0, 21 KOs) will face Jason Velez (29-6-1, 12 KOs). This fight is officially confirmed for July 21 in Las Vegas. This will be another Top Rank boxing night organized without spectators.
It will be 29-year-old Valdez's second fight since he moved up to the featherweights. In November, the Mexican fighter defeated Adam Lopez via TKO, even though he hit the floor in the second round.
If Valdez wins, he will get a fight against reigning WBC featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt, which could take place later this year. Former super bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe (20-2, 14 KOs) will return to the ring at the same tournament. In his first appearance after two defeats to Emanuele Navarrete, the 25-year-old boxer from Ghana will cross gloves with Chris Avalos (27-7, 20 KOs).
