Bob Arum wants Vasyl Lomachenko (14-1, 10 KOs) to return to the ring in September at a boxing evening organized in the United States. However, the 32-year-old boxer has been in Ukraine for several weeks, and the US borders are closed to Europeans for two months.

In June, Top Rank is going to begin organizing boxing tournaments without the participation of spectators. At the first such event, WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson will perform. In a week, another champion may appear in the ring - WBO titleholder Jamel Herring.

“We are looking for options for all our boxers who are in other countries to come to the United States. We don’t know how long the isolation will last, so for now it’s better for them to be in their home countries,” Arum said.

Lomachenko has not entered the ring since last August. His last fight took place in London, when the Ukrainian defeated Luke Campbell on points. In the United States, the Ukrainian has not performed since last April.

It was planned that on May 30 Loma will fight Teofimo Lopez for four champion lightweight belts. The coronavirus pandemic thwarted these plans. But if the Ukrainian can be delivered to the United States, negotiations on a duel against Lopez will resume.
