Since July Golden Boy Promotions wants to start organizing boxing evenings in the United States again. Oscar De La Hoya said that on July 4 he would like to have an interesting and promising fight of Ryan Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs) against former world champion in three weight categories Jorge Linares (47-5. 29 KOs).

“We have to go back and show that, despite the difficult times, boxing is still alive and doing well. I hope we get permission to stage boxing events from July,” the head of Golden Boy Promotions said.

“We are discussing this issue with several states: California, New York, Texas, Arizona and Nevada. Negotiations are ongoing with the commissions on how to conduct sporting events so that it is safe for all participants,” De La Hoya added.

Negotiations on Garcia vs Linares fight have been going on for several months. Both athletes last fought in February.
