Eddie Reinoso, the coach of Saul Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) in an interview to ESPN Deportes said that he would like the third fight of his ward with Gennady Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KOs) to take place, as planned, on the 12th of September.

“I hope that all this [the coronavirus pandemic] will end soon. We believe that this is possible by September. We want a duel with Golovkin, but we'll see what the [DAZN] platform decides from the point of view of our rivals and possible dates of fights. We hope that the third battle will take place,” Eddie Reynoso said.

Previously, Golovkin was also scheduled on June 6 for an intermediate fight with the unbeaten Polish challenger Kamil Szeremeta (21-0, 5 KOs), and Canelo could meet with the super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders. If the teams of Alvarez and Golovkin decide to start organizing the trilogy immediately, Szeremeta and Saunders will have to wait for their money battles.
