Bulgarian channel BTV announced that Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) would meet Kubrat Pulev (28-1, 14 KOs) in May at Vodafone Arena in Istanbul. This object can accommodate more than 40,000 spectators.
Earlier, the bout was scheduled for the second half of April, but Eddie Hearn, the promoter of Joshua, said that the IBF, WBA and WBO champion will have to wait for his next fight a little longer. Pulev is the official challenger for the world title by the International Boxing Federation.
British and Bulgarian teams have until 31 January to agree on the organization of the fight. Their fight could take place in autumn 2017, but the Bulgarian got injured, and was replaced by Carlos Takam.
It is not known how reliable reports about the organization of the fight in Turkey are. Until now, the information appeared that the duel would take place at the ultra-modern stadium Tottenham Hotspur in London.
