Horn takes revenge over Zerafa

Former WBO welterweight champion Jeff "Hornet" Horn (20-2-1, 13 KOs) in a dramatic battle took revenge over WBO #4, WBA #7 and IBF #13 middleweight champion Michael Zerafa (27-4, 16 KOs), winning a majority decision in the main event at Brisbane exhibition center, Australia.

Horn started aggressively in the first round, but was cut over the left eye. Horn continued to dictate the pace, causing successive attacks, which forced Zerafa to back up. In the course of the fight both fighters were taking heavy hits. Zerafa was cut over the right eye in the fifth.

Zerafa visibly hurt Horn in the ninth and went on to finish him, but the referee stopped the fight and allow the doctor to examine Horn's cut. When the fight resumed, Zerafa continued on his attack, but Horn answer with a powerful forehand that sent Zerafa to the canvas. Zerafa was able to get up, but missed a punch again, and was on the floor for the second time.

After ten rounds the judges scored it 98-90, 97-92 and 94-94. Horn won the WBA Oceania and WBO Oriental middleweight belts .

Zerafa stopped Horn in the ninth round of their first fight.

After the battle, Horn said that in the future he would like to fight against his compatriot Tim Tszyu, whom he considers a second-class boxer.
