Former world bantamweight champion Ryan Burnett (20-1, 10 KOs) announced his retirement at the age of 27. In June 2017 the Irishman became the IBF belt holder, and then unified WBA title.

Almost exactly a year ago Burnett lost to Nonito Donaire, although in fact losing to his back injury. Up to the moment of the stoppage he confidently led the fight with the famous Filipino.

Burnett came back in May, stopping Jelbirt Gomera in the sixth. It seemed that the career of Burnett would continue, but today Ryan unexpectedly announced that he hangs up his gloves. The reason for this became  health problems, injuries and long-term rehabilitation.
