"Do not ask me for any opponent because I'm ready for anybody. It all depends on my promoter Eddie Hearn," said Oleksandr Usyk (17-0, 13 KOs), who, after TKO victory over Chazz Witherspoon (38-4, 29 KOs), now wants to fight the best in the heavyweight division.
"If everything depended on me, I would choose the best in the rematch between Joshua and Ruiz Jr. I think Joshua would win this time. In my next fight I will add a few kilos, because this time I was too light. However, I have to do it properly, so as not to lose speed. So I'm going to do everything systematically, step by step, without undue haste. For my boxing it is still important to punch accurately, but not strong. Defense is also the foundation of my success. In the heavyweight they actually hit harder, but not so rapidly as in the category below," Usyk said.
Usyk was 215 pounds before his last fight. The American, who was found as his opponents almost at the last minute, stayed in the corner between the seventh and eighth rounds.
"He never hurt me, I was just very tired. But, despite the fact that Usyk has not too much power, in my opinion, he still will succeeds in the heavyweights," Witherspoon said.
