Fight, as expected, was full of exchanges of heavy blows, and both fighters were focused exclusively on the attack, completely forgetting about the defense. As a result, both landed a total of 667 punches, thereby establishing a new record for the royal division.

The bout started well for Kownacki who looked a lot stronger than the opponent 8 years older. But the experience and timing of Arreola began to show in the middle of the battle, when the Americans began to gain his moments. However, in the course of combat the fighter from California injured his left hand, which is obviously hampered his offense. Despite the injury, Arreola fought for the victory until the last bell, but thanks to strikes of Kownacki he conceded in almost every exchange at the medium range.

Finally, after twelve rounds the judges counted it 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111 in favor of the Pole, who scored the twentieth victory as a pro. Now Adam Kownacki after defeating Arreola and winning IBF Intercontinental belt is just a few steps away from the fight for the world title.
