On August 31 former heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (34-2, 24 KOs) returns to the ring at the boxing evening in London. Povetkin's opponent has not been determined yet. 39-year old Russian last boxed in September last year, losing by TKO in a fight for the WBA belt, WBO and IBF to Anthony Joshua.
Initially, there was an information that Povetkin could hang up gloves after the defeat to AJ, but eventually the boxer from Russia announced that he no longer thinks about retirement. Before his next performance, however, the Russian had to undergo surgery on his elbow, and his return has shifted over the time.
In the main event of the London tournament there will be a fight for WBA, WBO and WBC lightweight belts between Vasyl Lomachenko (13-1, 10 KOs) and Luke Campbell (20-2, 16 KOs).
