Washington knocks Helenius out, Martin and James scores victories

Gerald Washington (20-3-1, 13 KO) knocked out Robert Helenius (28-3, 17 KO) in the eighth round at the boxing evening in Minnesota. The duel ended with American forehand right. Before the stoppage 35-year-old Washington was losing on points. For a boxer from the United States it was a return to the ring after a loss to Adam Kownacki.

In Minnesota, former heavyweight champion Charles Martin (27-2-1, 24 KOs) scored another victory in the pro ranks. The American knocked out Daniel Martz (18-7-1, 15 KOs) in the fourth round. It was the second victory for Martin this year.

The welterweight Jamal James (26-1, 12 KOs) won an important fight in his career. James won a unanimous decision over former world champion Antonio DeMarco (33-8-1, 24 KOs), and soon will have to challenge the WBA interim belt. After ten rounds all the judges gave it to James 98-92.
