Murata stops Brant, regains the title

Ryota Murat (15-2, 12 KOs) scored second round TKO win over Rob Brant (25-2, 17 KOs) in the main event of the evening in Osaka, Japan. Thus, Murats regained the WBA regular champion middleweight title that he lost to the American last year.

Both fighters started the fight very quickly. Brant went ahead, but Murata defended well and did not allow the Americans to seize the initiative. Ryota counterattacked well and was able to hurt the opponent at the end of the round.

33-year-old Murata continued his attacks in the second round, and scored a knockdown. The American was able to get up, but after another successful attack of Murata the referee stopped the bout. Thus, the Japanese took revenge for the defeat in October last year.
