Lewis: I fell from one punch, Joshua missed the series

When Andy Ruiz Jr. sensationally knocked Anthony Joshua (22-1, 21 KOs) out, fans compared this battle with the defeat of Lennox Lewis to Hasim Rahman. In both cases, the British were the favorites of the battles that eventually lost after losing the titles at the same time. Lennox Lewis has told how he refers to this comparison, and if he sees similarities in Joshua's defeat with his defeat in 2001 after missing a monstrous right to the jaw.

"I speak from my point of view. When you lose, in a sense, you have to recover and think about what really happened. I soon found my mistake. I fixed it before reentering the ring," said the legendary heavyweight, who in seven months after his defeat to Rahman successfully took revenge on the American.

"It was a single blow. Anyone can be laid on the floor after a missed punch. Joshua was not defeated by a single blow. It was a series of punches. I do not know, maybe he was not ready for it mentally. When you are not prepared mentally, there is something of a shock. He was taken aback by this turn of action. I did not see necessary concentration in that fight. I never wanted people to say before the fight, that I'll win easily over this or that guy that I was waiting for an easy job. It's as if disarming you," said Lennox.

"Andy Ruiz Jr. weighs more than 260 pounds. His appearance does not matter, in any case you feel the weight when he punches. With this weight everybody is dangerous, and Andy Ruiz was always dangerous!" Lewis said.
