Juan Francisco Estrada (39-3, 26 KOs) scored a unanimous win on points over Wisaksil Wangek (47-5-1, 41 KOs) in the main event of the evening in Inglewood. The Mexican thus received the title of WBC Super Flyweight Title.
After twelve rounds, the judges scored it 116-112 and 115-113 twice for Estrada. It was the second fight of these boxers. Wangek won the first one, which means that maybe the fans will watch the trilogy this year.
During the same gala there was also a unification fight in the super bantamweight division. Daniel Roman (27-2-1, 10 KOs) won by majority decision over TJ Doheny (21-1, 15 KOs), winning the championship belts of IBF and WBA. Doheny was counted in the second and eleventh rounds. After the final bell, two judges gave it to Roman 116-110, while the third one scored it 113-113.
In Inglewood, another professional victory was also added to the record by the former welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (29-2-2, 11 KOs), who knocked out in the sixth round former titlist Humberto Soto (69-10-2, 37 KOs). Soon, Vargas is to cross the gloves with the WBO light middleweight champion Jaime Munguia.
