Commission refuses to license Miller for Joshua fight

The New York State Athletic Commission refused to grant Jarrell Miller (23-0-1, 21 KOs) a license to fight WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (22-0, 21 KOs).

Miller’s confrontation with Joshua was to occur on June 1 at the DAZN boxing night at Madison Square Garden in New York, but the American’s anti-doping test taken on March 20 returned positive. “Big Baby” asked to examine the “sample B”, but the chances that the result of the analysis will differ from the first one are minimal.

In connection with Miller's doping, Eddie Hearn Joshua’s promoter began to look for a new opponent for his champion.

Among the boxers considered by Matchroom Boxing there are Luis Ortiz, Michael Hunter, Oscar Rivas, Manuel Charr, Adam Kownacki and Kubrat Pulev, but the last two are sure they will not enter the ring with AJ in June.
