On March 2, 2019, the UFC 235 mixed martial arts tournament will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event the light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will meet Anthony Smith.

Jones, in connection with the doping scandals of past years, has to be tested for the presence of prohibited drugs in his blood several times. As tests showed before the UFC 235 tournament, a small amount of Turinabol was detected in two out of five Jones doping tests. One of the analyzes contained 20 picograms of the substance, and the other has 40 picograms.

However, no sanctions will be applied to the fighter. According to experts, the Turinabol metabolites are a residue of a substance that Jones took in 2017 and because of which he had already served a suspension.
