The WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev plans to fight on for at least another two years. The athlete said this during an online conference with his fans. On February 3, Kovalev defeated Eleider Alvarez by unanimous decision and regained the WBO title.

“I think that for another couple of years I will be able to fight. Most importantly, there is desire and there is abilities,” said Kovalev, 35.

The athlete also noted that he had found complete understanding with his new coach, Baddy McGirt.

“I felt a big difference, you saw everything yourself. An intelligent coach can give a lot of things, many tactical interesting things. With Buddy, we immediately reached an understanding, the person just saw my flaws, I showed him my amateur style. The preparation was eight weeks, the main thing he did not let me to overtrain," Kovalev said.
